Does this work with prop firm accounts like TopstepX and Apex?▼
Yes — TopstepX and Apex Trader Funding both have official API access available. You subscribe to their API plan, generate a key, and connect it in CopyTrade. Most other prop firms run on restricted Tradovate instances (Tradeify, Lucid, etc.) that don't allow API access.
Do I need to be a developer to use this?▼
Not at all. If you can set up a TradingView alert, you can use CopyTrade. The setup guides walk you through every step with screenshots. Most traders are up and running in under 30 minutes.
Is my broker API key stored securely?▼
Yes. All API keys and credentials are encrypted with AES-256 before being stored. We strongly recommend creating API keys with trade-only permissions (no withdrawal access) for additional safety.
What happens if the server goes down during a trade?▼
CopyTrade runs 24/7 on dedicated cloud infrastructure with automatic restart and error recovery. In the rare event of an outage, your broker accounts are unaffected — any open positions continue running per the broker's own systems. Check our status page at /status for real-time uptime.
Can I try it before paying?▼
Yes — 7-day free trial, no credit card required. The free tier (1 account, forever) is also available with no time limit.
How fast does the copy execute?▼
Typically 200–500ms from when TradingView fires the webhook to when orders hit your broker. Each additional account adds ~200ms (configurable delay). For micro futures like MGC, MNQ, and MYM this is well within acceptable range.
